Kent Hagerman  

(1893-1981)

William Kay Hagerman was born in Ohio in 1893. He served in France during World War I, and later studied at The Cleveland School of Art and The Sorbonne. He began his career producing newspaper and magazine illustrations. He and his brother operated an engraving company in Denver, but moved to Lakeland, Ohio with his wife in 1933. Besides many fine etchings, Hagerman made sculptures and bas-reliefs. An exhibit of his work was shown at the 1985 Lakeland City Centennial Celebration. He died in 1981.
