Sadie Shapiro
(1902-1997)
Sadie Shapiro was born in Pennsylvania in 1902. She was formerly a clothing retailer and did not get started in art until later in life. She is best known for her printmaking, but she also did other work including knitted or crocheted wearable pieces, ceramics, enamel plates and jewelry. She died in Pittsburgh in 1997.
