John Stone
(b. 1937)
John Stone was born in Presidio, Texas in 1937. He studied at the Forth Worth Museum of Fine Arts, the Texas Christian University, the University of Texas at Arlington, and the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. He has received several awards, including the Borjorne’ Egli Award from the Miniature Painters, Sculptures and Graver Society In Washington, D.C., First Prize for Drawing at the Heritage Hall Museum of Art in Fort Worth, Texas, the Elizabeth Curtis Award in the 35th Annual Painters, Sculptors Graver Society in Washington D.C., and the Beggs Award for watercolor at the Snyder Museum of Fine Arts in Snyder, Texas.
