Janice Sandler (also known as Mrs. Harry Shapiro) was born in New York City in 1908. She studied at the Art Students League and exhibited at the Society of Independent Artists in 1934-35 & 1937; the National Academy of Design in 1938; and at the Montross Gallery in New York.
