(Samuel) Wood Gaylor  

(1883-1957)

Wood Gaylor was born in Stamford, Connecticut in 1883. He was a painter who was well-known for his modern paintings in oil and watercolor. He studied at The National Academy of Design and was a member of Salons in America Association. His works were exhibited in Armory Show of 1913, the Brooklyn Museum, the Corcoran Gallery Biennial, the Metropolitan Museum, the Pennsylvania Academy, and Salons of America. He died in Glenwood Landing, New York in 1957.
