Joseph Peter Gualtieri  

(b. 1916)

Joseph Gualtieri was born in Royalton, Indiana in 1916. He was a painter and teacher who was well-known for his depictions of female figures. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, and was an art educator. He was a member of the Mystic Art Association, and the New Haven Paint and Clay Club. His works were exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Audubon Artists, the Corcoran Gallery Biennial, the Museum of Modern Art, the Mystic Art Association, the National Academy of Design, the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, the Pennsylvania Academy, Sivermine Artists Guild, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
