Daniel Celentano
(1902-1980)
Daniel Celentano was born in New York City in 1902. He was a painter, muralist, and printmaker well-known for his ethnic genre works and landscapes. He was taught by Charles Hawthorne and Thomas Hart Benton. He studied at The Cape Cod School of Art, the National Academy of Design, New York School of Art, and Parsons School of Design. He worked under the Federal Arts Projects and his artworks have been exhibited at The Art Institute of Chicago, the Brooklyn Museum, Carnegie Institute, the Corcoran Gallery Biennial, Detroit Institute of Art, the Pennsylvania Academy, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. He died in 1980.
