Chris Clark

Chris Clark was born and raised in New Orleans. She attended the University of New Orleans where she studied printmaking. Since 1983, she has been exhibiting her artwork, with exhibitions at the Pensacola Contemporary Art Museum, the Contemporary Museum of Houston, the Shreveport Museum, and the New Orleans Contemporary Art Center. Clark has received several awards, including an award for medal design submission from the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics and Artist in Residency Awards from both the LaNapoule Art Foundation in LaNapoule, France and the Arts Council of New Orleans. Her work is in the permanent collection of the Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans. Clark has also worked as a part of several art teaching programs in New Orleans. In 1998 she became the founder and director of the Unity for the Homeless Art Program which operated until its forced closure from the damage of hurricane Katrina in 2005.
