Gustav Rehberger  

(1910-1995)

Gustav Rehberger was born in Riedlingsdorf, Austria in 1910. He was a painter, muralist, and illustrator who was well-known for his expressionistic works. He studied and taught at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League in New York, and the Scottsdale Artists School. He was a member of Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, the Pastel Society of America, and the Society of Illustrators. He received the Grumbacher Award, and his works were exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago, Knickerbocker Artists, the National Academy of Design, the Pastel Society of America, and Society of Illustrators. He was also an art educator. He died in New York, New York in 1995.
