Charles Dahlgreen

(1864-1955)

Charles Dahlgreen was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1864. He was a painter and printmaker well-known for his snow scenes. He studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Art Students League of New York, and studied under John Vanderpoel. He was a member of the Chicago Society of Artists and his works have been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago; the Chicago Society of Artists; Corcoran Gallery Biennial; Hoosier Salon, Indiana; Panama Pacific Exhibition of 1915; and the Pennsylvania Academy. His works are included in the Chicago Union League Club Collection, the Friedman Collection, and the Marshall Collection. He died in Oak Park, Illinois in 1955.
