Frank Cohen Kirk

(1889-1963)

Frank Kirk was born in Zitomir, Russia, in 1889. He was a painter and sculptor well-known for his portraits and still-lifes. He was taught by Cecelia Beaux, Daniel Garber, Hugh Breckenridge, and Phillip Hale. He studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and he was a member of Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, the Boston Art Club, the Copley Society, the National Academy of Design, the North Shore Art Association, Salons of America, and the Society of Independent Artists. His works have been exhibited at Allied Artists of America, the Corcoran Gallery Biennial, Grand Central Art Galleries, the National Academy of Design, the North Shore Art Association, the Pennsylvania Academy, Salons of America, and the Society of Independent Artists. He died in New York City in 1963.
